Create posts that are separate “pages”

I set up my first post as my front/main page. I tried to set up a post on a different category and it shows up on my main page. I want to have a link for it so it is similar to another page. I want people to click on it as a category link but don’t want it on my main page. If I have several different initial postings, I want them on their on separate page/post. How can I do this?
