• It would be nice if this error message actually told me WHY it couldn’t upload the file. I’ve increased the size allowed to cover the file I’m trying to upload, but no luck. My permissions are all 777, too. What’s the deal?

What kind of a file is it? What is its file extension? Does your hosting provider allow the operation of binary upload scripts?

it’s a .jpg. My hosting provider is not the issue. I was able to do this last week, but had to take everything down and reinstal and now it’s not working.

in case anyone’s ever interested, i found the problem was that my php.ini file was set with upload_max_filesize = 2M.

    /etc/php/apache2-php4/php.ini
