Could WordPress be used for…

I’m thinking this is possible in WordPress, but I thought I would poll the community…

I’m considering developing a social site where members can post images and discuss and/or rate them.

Features might include: Membership, Uploading Media, Rating, Commenting & RSS.

Think of really-super-stripped version of scrnshots.com.

This might be closer to a forum, so I could look to bbpress, but I thought there may be a way to cobble-together a few plugins to allow this in WP.

Lastly, to ward-off the full-scale dissing, I know that an app like scrnshots.com is 100% custom. I totally respect real development projects, but thought I would make a working model using WP.
