• Just in the past couple of days my wordpress dashboard has become completely corrupt.
Rather than displaying as normal with the various windows etc, I not just have one long page with everything listed down the left hand side.

Similar (but not exactly) to this

I took that screenshot from another site with a guy reporting the same problem but I have no clue what on earth he is on about with his solution.

My site by the way is fine. No issues.

I’ve upgraded to the lastest wordpress release but the problem remains.
Can anyone help or have they the come across a similar issue?

    Thanks
    Dave

  • your site is not at all fine!

is what I see when I go there….. wondering if you have been hacked. Best thing to do is to reupload all core wordpress files first, that should get you back into your blog with a notmal admin area…

then investigate the issue, see if you have been hacked

Hi RVoodoo, Thanks for the reply..

That may have been due to the fact that I started to remove unused Themes.
Then I removed and reinstalled the latest K2 theme.
The site is now back online (without the banner…)

Now I get the problem that when I go into the dashboard it loads up perfectly for a brief second, this disappears and never loads.

At the bottom of Safari I see – loading index.php, completed 39 of 40 items..

    Any ideas?
    Thanks again!

when you view your source code from within your browser, there is a bit of code that worries me. If you read it real closely it is inserting an iframe of some sort

In IE click View->source to see your source code, scroll to the bottom, see that script?

is that something you recognize? Is it in your themes footer.php?

you are hacked – changing themes does not make the hack go away

    Thanks RVoodoo and samboll.
    I’ll look into that.

btw – when I go to load my dashboard and it appears for a split sec – I can then stop loading the page in safari and the dashboard will remain and allow me to work on the site. I was just able to get my header back fro example.
So it seems that it’s just the primary dashboard page that will not load properly.

At least I can make a post in the meantime while I look into the hacking possibility,

    Thanks again folks
    Dave
