Control Tag Count

Does anyone know if you can control the range of dates used to calculate the tag count in WordPress. This appears to be a value stored in the term_taxonomy table.

I’m using the Colored Tag Cloud plug-in, but it’s using the built in count value that appears to cover all tags over a long period. I want to reduce the scope of the count so it only covers the past month or even less.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
