Continuing Article on New page

Alright, this has probably been answered a million times, but Im not even sure what this is called to search for it.
Ive seen where people have a really long post and instead of the whole thing being on the frontpage, it will have a link that says “click here for full article” or something of the sort.
So, how are they doing that? Is it a plug-in?
