I have a page that lists all testimonials using only excerpts for each. The “continue reading” link takes the reader to a new page with just the single testimonial, where they have to press the back button to return.

Is it possible to have the “continue reading” link simply show the rest of the testimonial on the same page, preferably with the option to hide it again?

Elsewhere in the site I am using the “Read more without refresh for WordPress” plugin and would like the testimonials to behave in a similar way. I have tried showing the list of testimonials in full and embedding the shortcode for this plugin in the text of each testimonial, but it seems to be ignored. Is that because the testimonials are not regular posts?

    Hey Richard!

We don’t currently have a feature that operates as you describe. That’s an interesting idea, but not one that is on the short-term roadmap.

For other plugin’s shortcodes to work inside our plugin, you need to be sure you are using The Content filter (this is an option you can find under our Basic Settings.) I still can’t guarantee the other plugin will behave well with ours – as you’ve said we aren’t using standard posts and I’m not sure how that plugin is hooked in.

    I hope that helps!

    All the best,
    Richard

    Thanks for your response, Richard.

I already had the content filter checked, but that hadn’t helped. However, I also checked the Avada Blog filter and this seems to allow my other plugin to run within the testimonial. I’m not using the Avada theme (using Pinnacle), but if it works…

    Thanks for the pointer.
