Hi Dan.
Our multisite setup runs on Host Gater I believe.
I was able to disconnect Jetpack, enable DG including IMagick and could not reconnect Jetpack. I get the error
Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed.
I unchecked the IMagick box, saved the settings and had no problem reconnecting Jetpack.
This problem caused trouble with Google Calendar of Events, and some Jetpack plugins. It appeared to affect anything that tried to access resources outside of the site.
It appears to be working properly now for us.
Thanks for your efforts… Tom.
Fantastic! I’ll continue working on getting the IMagick issues resolved, but at least we have a workable solution.
HG is still doing something odd, but at least I have a more specific idea what it is.

My wordpress newsfeed issue has since resolved itself 🙂 So no issues now
All,
Following up on this, version 4.1.13 of DG includes a change which should minimize issues encountered when IMagick is enabled on a HostGator server. I’ve moved the logic that HG was choking on so that it only runs when actual thumbnail generation is happening (so this should only ever run on the front-end on a page/post with galleries rather than on every page load like it was previously).
Note that this is a work around and you could still encounter some issues, but things should be much better if you do wish to enable IMagick thumbnail generation.

Hi Dan, I am still having issues editing on front end using themify with document gallery. After disabling DG, I can edit on the front end. I thought issue was Ghost script but problems still happening. I downgraded to old version and I’m getting errors. Any ideas?
Hi Philip,
Are you referencing the same issue you posted about months ago? If so, the answer is the same as before: DG is not designed to run on the front end and the visual editor is going to be missing lots of dependencies unless Themify handles all of those missing dependencies (which based on what you’re seeing it presumably does not).
