Confused about Bluehost

    Hello,

    I see WordPress.org suggests Bluehost as best Hosting for WordPress websites, here at this page: https://wordpress.org/hosting/ then I lookup on google “bluehost scam” and I get a lot of results, in particulare this one: [ Redacted ] now you may wonder why I looked up that in google.

    I have opened a chat session on bluehost to ask why they have two different features for the same plan, this was confusing at start so I decided to drop them a line, surprise no webform to write them, only chat. After 10 minutes of waiting I got asked for a domain name, I said I had no domain name that I just wanted to ask a presale question but the representative refused to answer me until I gave him a website name so that he could get the commission for helping me should I register an account with such domain name. WEll all that was enough crazy and made me flee away and lookup some info on google.

    For reference the two different linsk are the following:
    https://www.bluehost.com/shared
    https://www.bluehost.com/web-hosting/signup

    As you can see they have two different plus plans with the same price, I was curious about what one would I eventually get. But now my question, why is such company so vouched by WordPress.org?

    I’ve redacted that URL. With any company or organization you can find sites like that and it’s not really pertinent to WordPress.

    You’re asking folks here about a host provider and those topics 100% get shutdown with this verbiage.

    I literally copied that from a list of moderator stock replies. Hosting topics are closed for the reasons above: they get spammy real quickly.
