• A message appears in the WP dashboard saying to configure WF firwewall.

I click continue and get error message: “We were unable to write to ~/wp-content/wflogs/ which the WAF uses for storage. Please update permissions on the parent directory so the web server can write to it.”

I have checked the w-content folder and it has permission 755. So…? I cannot get past that. step.

Thanks in advance for any help

  • Hi markf1,

It sounds like you checked the right folder permissions, but I believe it also needs to be owned by the user the web server is running under. Take a look at this and see if it helps. Web server permissions can be really tricky sometimes.

Hi and thanks for your reply.

“but I believe it also needs to be owned by the user the web server is running under.”

I don’t understand what that means?

I looked at the link you provided and it seems to say to check the wp-content folder permission, which is also 755. so I’m still stuck with that error message and unable to configure WF Firewall.

The site is a small personal blog and it’s hosted at Fatcow.

Thanks in adavvance for any help
