Configure home directory

    I am getting confused a little. How should I configure wordpress before I upload to a remote server.

    I have already exported my database to my remote sever ( another database there) and I need to configure wordpress on my local computer before I can upload the site.
    How and what should i configure?
    somebody, please help me.
