What you downloaded is just the core WordPress installation with the base theme 2016.
Normally one would have a hosting account as well. This is where the wordpress web site will live. To get your website up and linked to your domain name you need a place to upload the website too. Do you have hosting with Bluehost or just the domain name?
Once you have hosting you will need to create a database and link it to WordPress, run the install, then install the Theme you wish to use. Then create your content.
Very easy stuff – lol
Easiest approach in my opinion, if your host provides it, is to run the Softiculeous WP install script from your host control panel.
Just log in to your hosting cpanel and do a one click install, then go to /wp-admin and log in, change your theme, delete all the garbage, upload your logos and start blogging.
Look it all of these replies! Haha, I feel so silly becasue I have done this before! I do have hosting through Bluehost. I signed into bluehost and installed it and it worked. For some odd reason, I did not think I had to do it through bluehost (I do not have a smart excuse for why I thought this, yikes) However, all worked out well, and now I am off to make it look beautiful! I appreciate the replies all! Have a fantastic day!
Hi, I am sort of in the same place as lushavocado was, but I’m still in there… It has been years since I have updated our website but need to do it now. I have come as far as to log-in to the wp-admin, but when I go to Dashboard, I get an error message;
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1966080 bytes) in /home/telesoft/public_html/wp-includes/class-simplepie.php on line 5410
Please advise…
Kind regards,
Bard Thomas
