Competitor traffic source?

Hi, I’ve learned lots about seo by using compete, alexa, etc to see where my competitors have traffic coming from. Is there anywhere that I could get more descriptive and thorough information? Compete at times doesn’t update some sites for 2 months so it’s hard getting accurate info.
