• Hi,

My website was recently hacked because of the Ultimate Member plugin vulnerabilities.

I’ve restored my site to a previous backup but my host is telling me I need to compare all files and make sure there is not malicious code anywhere that could cause the hack again.

Going through every WordPress file would take hours and hours.

I’m wondering if there is a quick way of doing this? – does anyone know of a tool I could use in Terminal or even a GUI app that will compare two folders and all sub folders and files and also compare file contents.

    Thanks
    James

    Not good.

    True.

Generally? No. But try this plugin.

The author has a great track record for obsessively and compulsively identifying bad things in WordPress files and possibly the database. 😉

I’ve not used that plugin but I would consider starting with that one.
