• I’m told by one user of my blog that some comments were visible to anyone prior to him moderating them (he was obviously not the author, but they had the tag “comment is pending moderation”).

Is this a known issue (WP 1.5.1.3).

    TIA

  • He could see them, probably you could. I would not have seen them.

Can you elaborate? Are they visible to administrators who are logged in? Is that what you mean? I never realized that this was the case.

That’s what I meant, yes. I would not have seen them as a non-logged in user.

The commenter can see they they don’t keep hitting them in.
You can see because it’s your blog.

Hmmm, I’m not sure. I’ve never seen comments that are pending moderation.

I was under the impression any logged in user with a User Level greater than zero could see comments, even unmoderated comments.

My understanding is that the person who has posted the comment can see their post immediately while it is waiting for moderation but no-one else can see it until it is approved. I guess this feature is designed that way to make the commenter feel that their comment is actually on the site.
