Comments disabled for single post

    Hello,

    Assuming comments are “ON” on this post, a few things may still prevent to comment in WP Dashboard > Settings > Discussion > :

    View post on imgur.com

    – Check “Automatically close comments on articles older than” box (I’ve seen this box bugging a few times, try putting like 90 days to test – or simply disable this box)
    – Check other checkboxes like “user must be logged in” to comment

    Hello,

    There isn’t an option for comments on/off on this individual post.
    Underneath ‘Comments’ it says ‘Add comment’ and ‘there are no comments yet’. Should there be an option here to turn on/off comments for this post?

    My settings already are the way you show in your image so I’m not sure why it has started doing this….

    Yes, while you’re in the backend, in screen to write or edit every post, there should be an option at very bottom to set comment on or off (sometimes you have to use top right menu to make this appear).

    Given the number of posts you wrote, I’m sure you master all that for a long time, so I’m a bit puzzled with issue too.

    This issue occured to me once on one site, and only a single post. But I don’t remember why exactly sorry (a plugin or so issue).

    Suggestion, what happens if you create a new post with same content? New post will have like -2 added to url, but if comments works you can change that later, delete orginial post and change permalink as old one.

    This has worke dbut the only issue is that I can’t edit the permalink even though I have deleted the original post…. any tips?

    Not a genius for sure, but it’s nice to hear it helped:)

    After, no for this question I’m really out of answer. (if I could see database, maybe but, hard to tell). It’s a bit ugly, but, will work as quick fix.

    I did this trick a few times and it worked, so what’s strange is you can’t change the permalink after. Maybe WordPress rules about one post is one number, not sure really.

    By the way nice posts, I subscribed keep travelling 😉

    Mmm, maybe you’d like to visit that story in Madagascar. It’s a french guy who tries to make local guys plant rare crops (for perfume and beauty like ylang-ylang) instead of burning forest. And it seems to work, profits are shared to villagers it seems.

    If you can walk there, I’m curious to see if he did what he told in TV (according to the guy, he share money with people and is idea is great).
