comments closed message on blog posts

    Hi,
    Recently, I’ve discovered that all the comments on my blog read as ‘comments closed’.

    I’ve checked the usual suspects and all seems in order.

    1) “Allow people to post comments on new articles” is checked in ‘Discussion’.
    2) ‘Screen Options’ > ‘Discussion’ is checked.
    3) ‘Allow Comments’ is checked on the given posts.

    Also double check this in dashboard – settings – discussion

    Automatically close comments on articles older than

    If that setting is okay, then try:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
