Im a bit stuck, I have had my blog for about a month, and during that time one person has made a comment, it was my father in law who isn’t that internet savvy so I thought it couldn’t be that hard!

Today I have had two people who wanted to leave a comment and when they typed their comment and pressed submit it went to a white page with a line of text saying that you had to be logged in to leave a comment.

However, on my sidebar under ‘meta’ I don’t seem to have any kind of register button. I am using the theme dark maple and I have seen on other dark maple themed blogs, that they don’t have a register either. How can viewers make comments if there is no way to register and they are required to login to comment.

Am I missing something, have I changed something by mistake?

    Can anyone help??!

Sorry forgot to add my blog addy – http://www.pet-portraitartist.com/blogs/

    1. The setting that requires commenters/users to be logged in – comes from your settings. Admin panel > Options > General under Membership: “Users must be registered and logged in to comment”. UNcheck that box if you don’t want them to register.
    2. As for the “Register” link – add to the sidebar.php in the Meta section:
    <li><a href="<?php echo get_settings('siteurl'); ?>/wp-register.php"><?php _e('Register'); ?></a></li>
