Comment form help

    I am new to word press and have made a stupid mistake. To check to see if comments were working I entered the word “test” in the name field and my “email adress” in the email field. Everything worked and I recieved an email. I checked the form again , now the name and email field for comments under all posts have been auto completed with “test” and my “email address” information.

    How/where do I clear the fields so they are blank? I have disabled comments for fear of the spammers getting my email address. Please help.

    That’s cookies on your computer. The completed info will only be visible on your computer. You could clear up your cookies to erase them.

    No, we don’t erase resolved issue. It could be used for reference for other people who have the same issue.

    I feel much better knowing that someone out there some day might might have the same problem. At least it is possible, although I doubt very probable. So I will just have to live with this cookie embarrasment. Thanks again.

    7up, someone somewhere did indeed have the same problem – me! You’ve saved me a lot of effort (my next move was to go to the other end of the house, boot up the family PC and try to post a comment to test that it might be ‘cookies’). OK not THAT much effort but a pain all the same.
    I’m not that inexperienced, but when you’re dealing with a new installation you sometimes don’t see the wood for the trees.
