[Plugin:Collapsing categories] Category links duplicating

I created a widgetized area in my sidebar(theme:Expositio) and then installed the “Collapsing categories” plugin as described in this post on the Expositio forum: http://wpshower.com/forums/showthrea…=dropdown+menu

It worked fine but I’m still stuck with the old category link with it’s two posts i.e. I now have my new drop down category AND the original category showing in my sidebar, does anybody know how I can remove the original category with it’s two posts?

I looked in the widget options but don’t see anything. thanks
