• I just setup a new theme (Colinear) which demos and says you can have 2 right columns for widgets plus the main column for blogging, yet I cannot find a way to turn on 2 right columns.
I go to APPEARANCE->CUSTOMIZE->THEME OPTIONS->2 SIDEBARS RIGHT but the blog still only has 1 sidebar on the right for some reason.

Can anyone offer any help on this?

    Thank you.

    – Your currently used theme is not in the wordpress.org/themes/ directory: https://wordpress.org/themes/search/Colinear/

    – Please contact the developer directly for support with your question. You’ll be more likely to find a good answer from them, for they have the access to its code. Forum volunteers are not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product. These forums are for free themes available in the WordPress theme directory at wordpress.org/themes/. See

    Now I’m further confused 🙂
    That IS a free theme.

Not sure it said where/how to contact the author.

    OK … it’s at wordpress.com/themes … is that different than wordpress.org?

    Hi,

Did you ever figure out how to resolve this issue? I just started using the colinear theme and am having the exact problem. I emailed automattic and wordpress but haven’t heard anything back yet. What a shame if it’s a bug that hasn’t been corrected since I just wasted time customizing my page for it. 🙁

Unfortunately, I have not. And it seems no one knows how, or is stating so.

Good news. I’m not quite sure what I did but I figured it out.

If you go to customizer > widgets, you should see at least these four options: footer 1, footer 2, footer 3, sidebar right. If you arbitrarily fill each option available with at least one widget, the list changes and now includes six options, with the following two options becoming available: sidebar right 2 (which is displayed as the middle column) and featured sidebar (which is displayed above both the middle column and right column).

My guess is that, by filling all of the footers, you “force” the style sheet to default to the three column layout by defining the div class ID’s right-sidebar-2 and featured-widget-area which are shown in the source code of the colinear demo page which displays the three-column layout correctly. Perhaps you can’t “see” those options until you actually initialize them by defining them.

    I hope that helps.
