Of course, it is slow… it has a painfully long entry page with a lot of huge pictures.
The loads of pictures doesn’t help, but the main reason it seems slow is because it doesn’t display as it loads, the browser is having to wait to get everything to render it.
Could be a lot of reasons for this, but I’d start by making the page validate properly and seeing if that helps any:

Funny when you don’t see the simplest explanation. Not sure why I assumed it must be something else….
Have now halved the number of posts on the first page. Sadly the photos need to stay – though I guess I should probably start hosting slightly lower res versions of the pictures instead of just using flickr.
Even if you use Flickr, you can use the smaller versions of your pictures.
