When i click on a label from an event it links to
but that page just goes to my homepage

Could you share me live available URL?
I think your issue related to “event links” on single events. so please read and follow this link(#4): https://webnus.net/dox/modern-events-calendar/add-event/ and let me know if you have an issue yet.
Also from WordPress Settings > Permalinks please set again correct permalink and save again.
