What chunky all-caps font?
The same font used in the body of Twenty Twelve.
It’s the primary font in my dashboard. Everything: Left side-bar navigation, activity, comments, WordPress News, even the widget code.
Then this is something that is peculiar to just your site. Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I got this fixed by disabling the font “Open-Sans” in my “Font Book” App in Mac OS X Mavericks.
