Child theme does not read child css?

Fact: clean installation of WP, none plugins inside now…

After I created a child theme and activate it, the page does not show a look as a parent theme. Instead, it shows just simple look. I tried with a few different themes and problem is always there.

On other installations everything works well.

Any ideas?

It is loading it, you just don’t have any styles http://www.infores.si/avtobenussi/wp-content/themes/simplify-child/style.css

I understand that. But why everything is fine on other sites? child style.css is the same…?

As far as I understand, child css should contain only lines that should not be overwritten while upgrading parent theme…

Here you can see child ctyle.css basically empty, but it works…

Well that’s a different theme. Themes don’t all work the same. In your Simplify theme you have to use the @import line as instructed by Codex.

Sigh.. Looks like that Codex resource has changed.
What I’m trying to say, is you have to add this code:
```
@import url(../simplify/style.css);
```
E.g.:
```
/*
 Theme Name:   Simplify Child
 Template:     simplify
*/

/* =Theme customization starts here
-------------------------------------------------------------- */

@import url(../simplify/style.css);
```
