I am running WordPress 4.5.3 at host Siteground. Usually, my site (http://www.gnimmargorp.com) runs the Divi theme from Elegant Themes, plus a slew of plug-ins, particularly the Game-On plug-in. Today, while editing various posts and imagemaps (using the ImageMapper plug-in), I suddenly developed a problem customizing the theme. The customzier starts to load, then jumps to the dreaded “Cheatin’ Uh?” message.

I have done the following to try to troubleshoot, but without any success. After each step listed, I tested and am still getting the “Cheatin’ Uh?” message when I link to the customizer page (both through the “Theme -> Customize” menu item and through the Divi -> Customize link, when I still had Divi loaded):

    • Switched to the Twenty Fifteen theme
    • Disabled all plugins
    • Moved all plugins out of the plugin directory (to “plugins-disabled directory”)
    • Replaced the wp-admin and wp-includes directories with copies from a fresh download of WordPress (from this site, today).

I’m pulling my hair out with frustration on this one. I can usually troubleshoot pretty well, but this has me ready to scream at the walls. Any direction or suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Never mind. I figured it out with the assistance of a friend. He was able to log in on his computer, even using the same account, and get to the customization just fine. So I cleared the cache on my browser and restarted it, then I was able to get in without any further problem.
