characters

hi,
your plugin does not handle special characters correctly.
I typed “Forté” into the question field, and the “é” was displayed as “é”
I edited it to be a normal “e” with no issues, but then edited the “é” back in and suddenly it worked!

M

Howdy vexweb,
Thanks for the feedback. I am unable to reproduce this issue. Can you tell me what browser and version you are using and what OS and version?
Hi there,
I’m using Google Chrome Version 37.0.2062.120
I’m running Windows 8.1Regards,
MI’m still unable to re-produce this issue.
Is it safe to assume that you are using a non-English keyboard for input?
Is it also safe for me to assume that you don’t see this type of behaviour in other text input fields (such as post titles, category names, etc) within your installation of WordPress?
I use US keyboard for input and my primary language is English
I only got the character issue in the admin section while creating the survey, and only with the survey plugin.
I’m thinking it may be a question of character encoding. Do you use UTF-8 or some other character set in your plugin?
Regards,
MHi
I also have the same problem with non english characters. Non english characters displays correctly at the front end, but not in the admin panel. I am quite sure that you have an encoding problem.
I hope you get it fixed soon. Aside from the encoding issue, this is in my opinion the best survey plugin for wordpress for small and simple surveys. But now it is difficult to use for non english languages.
Regards
RuneI’d really like to get this issue sorted for both of you as well as others who may be having the same problem. Unfortunately I am still unable to re-create the problem in testing.
If you would be willing to contact me via my contact form on my website perhaps we can work together to reproduce this issue so I can get it sorted.
Alternatively, if either of you are familiar/comfortable with your browsers developer console can you inspect the element where the special character is and tell me what is actually in the element in question?
I have contacted you via your contact form on your website, but it seems that your contact form is not working.
When I inspect the elements where the special characters are. It looks like this:
Mellom 30 og 40 u00e5r
where u00e5 should be the norwegian letter åTrives svu00e6rt godt
where u00e6 should be the norwegian letter æHope that helps.

Oh, and thanks for letting me know that the contact form wasn’t working. It was working with my browser, but I did find issues with other browsers so now it’s fixed 🙂
Hey guys,
I was finally able to duplicate the issue (I think)
just to verify that I’m seeing the same behavior that you’re seeing, can you look at the following screen shots:
In the survey builder/preview – special chars are output as expected
Yes, that is correct 🙂
1.4.4 should have this fixed up for you!
Perfect, thanks 🙂
Regards
Rune
