changing the excerptlength

Hi,

I went through your guide on template modification.

I wasn’t not able to find an information pertaining to excerpt length limitation in the event preview. By excerpt I mean the content excerpt that shows on desktop upon mouse cursor hover over the event in the calendar view and upon event click on mobile.

In Thai language there are few few spaces between characters causing the except to be too long.

Therefore I have 3 questions:
1. How to modify the excerpt word length for both desktop and mobile version? What php file and what piece of code?
2. Is it possible to set the excerpt length based on number of characters instead of words, if yes how?
3. Is it possible to change the number of words for excerpt limitation differently for different languages (using wpml translation plugin) ?
