• I’m building a site for a client, but when I try to log into the wp-admin on it it automatically redirects from http and https and says ‘Web page not available’. As the site doesn’t show up normally in https, I believe there’s a problem with the WordPress address URL (not the site URL which is still http) being https and would like this changed back to just http. I can’t SSH or FTP into it as WordPress is the hosting site.

Obviously I don’t want to ask the client for their main account details as there’s sensitive information in there, and even with it I don’t know how I can change it back. Would it be possible for a site administrator to change it for me, without me being logged into the client’s actual account? (I have the user info to log into the wp-admin, just not the main one). The site is http://mediamaven.com.au/wp-admin

    Thanks!

  • I guess http to https redirection must have been done via .htaccess.

Check the htaccess file and delete that part.

    Hi,

It depends on host of your clients. Many allow more ftp accounts, so probably he can create one for you, ask him.

If you mean just admin login to WordPress site, just ask your client that he create one user with administrator role in Dashboard – Users.
