changing default menu titles ?

Hello,

I have finally succumbed to wordpress and am in the infancy of a. using it and b. configuring and chaging it.

I have a temporary one in place at

My fisrt question is which file do i have to edit, to change the default words in the menu

So eg.. the one that says ‘Pages’ – ‘Archives’ – ‘Categories’ etc etc, which by default appear on the right hand side.

I will want to change some of these to say something else.
