In the admin, under post, click the screen options in the top right. Make sure that the author box is check. Then under each post, you’ll be able to assign the post to the specific author.
Mind you, before you can do that, they need to be set up as users.

Thank you Christine. However, one question. If I assign user rights to them, doesn’t it also mean that I am sharing admin rights with them? These writers are just quest contributors. I cannot give away admin rights. What I have done at the moment is to remove author code from index php file. So, I key in author’s name when I post their articles.
Is there anyway one can change the name of the author without making them users? Are there any plugins?

It would be easier to make them users and just give them author rights and not full admin. You could also not give them their username, password and provide them with a fake email and that way they wouldn’t be able to login at all.
