Changing a theme and keeping settings

    I am new and used the Kubrick Theme and have done a lot of changes. Because there is no home page button I want to try the inove theme to see if this theme will work. I will probably change the header jpeg but need the home button section.
    The question is if I deactivate Kubrick theme will I loose all the settings I made to the style sheet if I decide to reactivate.

    No. The stylesheet you edited for Kubrik should be unaffected. Kubrik has a stylesheet in its directory. The new theme will have its own stylesheet in its own directory– wp-content/themes/inove (or similar). Download a copy of whatever files you edited for the extra peace of mind though. It never hurts.

    Thanks, I presume I can download the themes file as back up, Do the widgets etc recide in this file

    Its possible to instantiate a widget in a theme’s function.php file but most likely your widgets are instantiated by plugins which are in wp-content/plugins/<plugin-name>. Either way though, you shouldn’t lose the code. Each theme has its own directory (folder) inside the wp-content directory so one theme should not be over-writing another theme’s files.

    But yes, backup your files. I never do anything without backups and I, more or less, know what I’m doing.
