My blog IS hosted elsewhere; BUT this seems to be an issue to be fixed on the WordPress side.

Withing the wp-admin, on the options page, I changed my blog location (in both fields) from http://blog.urlexample.com to http://urlexample.com. I see what I did wrong and do now know how to make this change correctly… IF I could get it back the way it was.

My situation now is that moving the files on the hosted site does not bring back the blog as it should be. Had I created a new folder in the path, tat would make sense – create that actual folder and put all the files in it, but I have gone the other way. Since it looks like I removed the path to the “blog” folder, I have played with moving some (and all, in a different attempt) of the files to the root level of my host site, but that still does not work.

What displays now is the content from the index page (no design/formatting/theme) and all of the links are bad.

Currently, I can log in to my account through WordPress, but it says I have no blogs. Well, clearly, there is something there a semi-version of the blog is live. I need to get back in to my blog information through the WP-admin (blog.urlexample.com/wp-admin) to change the URL.

I am hoping this situation is abundantly clear/familiar to someone on here, who can lend some assistance to place things back where they should be or to change the correct line within whatever file determines the URL.

    Thank you,
    tbarrow
