Category specific search

hello,
first of all thanks for the plugin as it has helped us to speed up the search of a news blog site. Still there is an issue I couldn’t resolve. The search algorithm should also consider author names of posts of a specific category (thus posts from other categories should stay irrelevant when author name matching is done). How can this be achieved? I’ve already checked the plugin’s filter hooks but couldn’t solve it yet.
