I used to put the meta description on the bottom of the post, but now the plugin is forcing me to use SEO->Titles & Metas (I really don’t like that btw, the last plugin was better in that it allowed me override the template if I needed to).

Anyway, for regular posts I have:

    %%title%% | My Site %%category%%

In the preview window the %%category%% seems to e treated as plain text and not replaced. Why? (also I can’t use %%term_title%% for some reason either).

    What is going on?

Correction, I can edit the post inline using the visual editor. That works. Ok.

But why can’t I use %%category%% keyword in my title template?

You don’t have to use the templates to set the meta description. You can edit it in the Snippet Editor directly!

Just click the title or meta description to start editing it.

Thanks TacoV, that is my workaround.

Not really. %%category%% still doesn’t work in the snippets window. Why is that? (I don’t even get “undefined”, it just treats it as a literal string).
