CAPTCHA pluging

Hi. After installing a few different plugins, and having my blog crash nearly an equal number of times, I am very wary of installing anymore new plugins. However, I’d like to add a Captcha to try and slow down the spam arriving in my comments area. Can anyone suggest one the is working and wont crash my blog please?
