cant upload csv file

As part of an existing procedure we regularly upload a csv file produced by another system. from 4.9.9 this fails with the error message The uploaded file type is not allowed. The upload is done via a gravity forms “upload file” form element. I can still do the upload if I rename the file to have the extension .txt.

Is this a bug or a feature? When will it be fixed? I have tried adding csv to the list of mime types but without success.

The upload is done via a gravity forms

CSV issues are a known problem in 5.0.1/4.9.9. Hopefully, the GF folks have figured out a work-around. See https://wordpress.org/support/topic/read-this-first-wordpress-5-0-master-list/?view=all#post-10953687

@hessam68888 I found a fix working for me. You need to use mime type text/plain to make CSV uploads available.
```
// add csv
function edit_upload_types($existing_mimes = array()) {
    // allow .woff
    $existing_mimes['csv'] = 'text/plain';

    return $existing_mimes;
}
add_filter('upload_mimes', 'edit_upload_types');
```
