    Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Fourteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

    esmi, I enabled the 2014 theme as advised and worked back through the plugins. It appears that my customer had installed the Free Stock Photos by MyStockPhoto.com plugin. This plugin caused the issue. I will report the bug to them of course.
