• Hey!

I want to update WOO for a customer puro-vita.de but can’t. It gives me errors like: “can’t copy: woocommerce/assets/js/frontend/country-select.js” and other files.

    Any suggestions?

Is there a way to download the update-files manually so i can just copy them through FTP?

    Best regards and thanks!
    Blessings

How are you updating WooCommerce? Are you using the updater in the WordPress admin area?

Have you had a look at WooCommerce docs on this regard? It’s available at https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/updating-woocommerce/#section-2

Remember that you need to replace all files in that directory, not just add the new ones 🙂

Hey Riaan! Thanks for the reply =)

Yes, i tried to update WOO where i update all the other stuff.
You can see it on this Screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ity9wucci7voymv/error.jpg?dl=0

The weird thing about it is, that it’s everytime a different file, that can’t be copied? I don’t get it!

Is there a way to download all the actual WOO files in a .zip so i can copy them all on my FTP and overwrite the old files? Or would then my products vanish?

    Blessings

You can download the current woocommerce.zip from here:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce/

Unzip on your hard drive and then upload to your server using say FileZilla which will upload a directory tree’s worth of files at a time.

    Upload to:
    wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/

I’ve read its best to delete the old directory first even though you’d think the new files will just overwrite the old ones.

Your products are in the database and won’t be affected. Your product images are normally kept in wp-content/uploads/ so should not be affected.

Always a good idea to take a backup before updates.

Hey lorro! Thanks a lot for replying!

I downloaded the plugin files from wordpress.org and uploaded the stuff through FTP. Worked fine.

Weird thing tho is, that i can’t update ANYTHING through backend anymore, have to do it manually. It’s not too bad, but i don’t understand why 😀

    Thanks a lot! Blessings
