Cant display this gallery

My portfolio page has a comment of “We can not display this gallery” for every gallery I have up.
I am using the shortcode [nggallery=1] and so forth.
Wordpress version 4.3
NGG version 2.1.15

I have switched themes to no luck.
i have deactivated all plugins with no luck.

It appears something is up with the plugin because when I tried and go in to add a new gallery in the popup all the selections are there but the “Select a display type” area there is nothing to select. Normally there are the little boxes that say gallery, slideshow, etc….

I would love to get this figured out if anyone can help.
