NextGen installed on various sites. All work fine.
    Next Site … Installed NextGen
Gallery Settings and Other Options the same as on other sites
Created Gallery — Images all .jpg, and the same images as loaded on other sites
Managed Gallery — settings the same as other sites
    Display Gallery …
    Basic Thumbnails
Sources set to sample gallery as created earlier
    Insert Displayed Gallery
Error noted (Triangle with ! in center)

Help is needed, please. This same gallery works as expected on another test site.

@eztune – Given the description of your workflow and the end results of the red triangle with the exclamation mark I suspect that the source gallery is not being retained when you save the display you are creating. This has most often been due to the current theme in use and/or some page builder type functionality provided within the theme or by another active plugin.

Have you tried deactivating all of your plugins, clearing your browser cache (and site caches if you are using a caching plugin), then reactivating the NextGEN plugin?

If this fixes the problem then it was likely one of the deactivated plugins that was causing an issue. Now, retrace your steps activating each plugin and re-checking to see if the problem returns. If it does then that last activated plugin was probably the one. Keep reactivating and in most cases it is also best to keep checking after each plugin, sometimes there may be more than one plugin on a site that will create an issue. If you do find one (or more) plugins causing this problem we would greatly appreciate your feedback on them so the developers may address them as soon as they can.

Also to note, in rare cases it may be the theme itself that is causing a conflict so while you have just the NextGEN plugin activated you might consider temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress Twenty series themes and see if this corrects the issue as well.

If the problem still persists after all of this we would still want to know, even more so, as we will still want to sort out the issue and may need additional details.

    Thanks!

I downloaded a plugin: photocrati-nextgen-gallery-reset-c7e83705e376, and installed it. This fixed the fault, and I’m now back in business.

Not everything has to with deactivating all other plugins or switching themes.

    Thanks for the input.

@eztune – The Reset Tool plugin (which is essential an external version of the Reset Option found under Gallery > Other Options) does tend to have some “magical” effects on some sites. It is especially useful if there was a recent site migration.

    Thanks for the update!
