so I used this plugin 3 months ago with no issues… Now I have created a new file, uploaded and i get this error issue?

Could not verify HTTP challenges. Please check whether HTTP challenge files uploaded to acme-challenge folder is publicly accessible. Some hosts purposefully block BOT access to acme-challenge folder, please try DNS based verification. Upgrade to PRO version for fully automatic domain verification.

I have tried changing permissions but what should I set them to?

why would this work first time but not now??

@rfollett Please run the RESET option once, make sure directory permission of .well-known and acme-challenges folders are at least 644

Finally, please run the SSL install form of WP Encryption entering your email and complete the HTTP domain verification. Everything should work fine. Play around with folder permissions and make sure “Uploaded files should be viewable at” links work fine and don’t go to 404 not found.

If your /.well-known/acme-challenges/ url is going to 404 or invalid, please contact your hosting support once to fix directory permission issues.

    thank you for your help.
I have tried what you suggested with same results..
you have said acme-challenges in your reply..

is it acme-challenges or challenge (no s) which is it?

i have changed directory permissions to 644 and 666 with no luck.
