    Your server’s PHP.ini file, generally.

    How much memory does your host allow?

    Usually in your php.ini file. See http://php.net/manual/en/ini.core.php

    hi, exact same issue.
    I’ve tried the tricks that seem to work with “mono”-site installs, but it gives me that same error. exactly “line 1426”.

    memory is set at 32M, but it seems my host (1and1.fr) limits it at 32Mo anyways, whatever value I add in the php files.

    As I said elsewhere, do a Manual Upgrade 😉 if you only have 32M, then yeah, it’s probably crapping out.

    (FYI posting the same problem in multiple topics is not friendly. In THIS case, this was the perfect place to post 😀 The other ones, not so much.)

    @ipstenu, thanks for the support.

    will go for manual upgrade, and report here after. It seems some users are still having trouble after manual.

    (and yes, as I posted it here, i realized it was “the right place”. I imagine now that it’s hard to moderate forums if everyone posts everything twice! I’ll look for the best place to post next time 🙂

    Well the manual upgrade will work around the out of memory error, but if it causes OTHER errors, make sure you do the standard song and dance.

    Turn off the plugins, try the default theme, etc 🙂

    Hi all,
    just finished the manual upgrade, took a bit over an hour (1st time to go manual) and it WORKS FINE !

    BIG THANKS to the WP team and this support forum for the consistent great work and reliable support. I followed all of the Extended process step by step, i’m now on 3.2. Indeed the interface is much improved.

    side note : i’ve been able to confirm that 1and1 sets a limit at 32Mo whatever changes we try to input so for WP users hosted there and having this exact same issue, most likely the only way is to do the manual upgrade this time.

    1&1 is pretty notable for throttling users :/
