Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.
If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
I’ve tried that now but nothing. I realized that if i hilight the empty screen in the post area, it’s HTML. Cannot update theme either. Says “function copy” and i clicked on that and it’s a face book ad. It’s not something i put on there but still don’t know how to get rid of it.
Still cannot edit or write any posts.

If so, try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.
I am sorry for taking so long to reply….No i cannot find a twenty fifteen theme.
I’ve deactivated the plug ins that i have installed (3) of them individually but not a difference.
I’m not sure what is going on, nor do i have anyone to break this down for me.
Tried to switch themes then switch back but same thing.
I go to the posts i have then go to the edit button, it takes me to the edit page, but the edit area is blank UNLESS i drag my mouse to highlight the inside of it and i can see the HTML version. When i click on the mouse again the highlight goes away and goes back to total white.
There is no options for the editor or nothing. What to do what to do!!
I tried to update my Mantra Theme again and this is what is stopping me from doing so….

I have tried this a cpl of times but it brings up what i pated above and access is denied.
Does everything work fine *without* the Mantra theme? Does it work if you use the Twenty Fifteen theme instead?
No i tried on a different theme but same thing
Ok, which other theme did you try with? Was it Twenty Fifteen, Twenty Fourteen, or one of the Twenty [whatever] themes?
I’ve tried on a couple of twenty themes, plus a random one. When i loaded it i went to add new post and it’s the same thing.
And it’s the same even with all plugins deactivated (even those you feel are necessary)?
Hi lids2274, could you check the current permissions for /home/biggest/public_html/wp-includes/js/tinymce (and maybe others) via your FTP program?
