I downloaded a WP theme that has given me quite a bit of trouble. Tonight I tried to access my site and received a parse error:syntax error…

I read previous dialogue here that told to go to cPanel and rename the theme so as to access site. That worked and under Appearances:Themes it says that previous theme is broken. When I try to activate one of the other free themes, I receive the error message again and have to go in and rename the theme again.

What should I do? All of my pages, posts and categories are still there, just no theme.

Update:

I was able to convert to one of the free themes. Should I delete the theme from my File Manager in my cPanel and then reinstall it on my WP site?

Did your new theme come with any documentation or install instructions?

Not that I can find. It’s been a challenge. I downloaded the file after purchase but of course it had the spreadsheet error upon download so I went back to Envado and downloaded the WordPress Download of my theme. It seems to be missing quite a bit.

I did just delete it and reinstall but I have not activated it yet.
