Cannot log in

    I have another WordPress.org account under my iCloud username which is my first and last name, but cannot log in at all because I forgot my password.

    Tried numerous password resets, but get this message instead.

    Your password reset link appears to be invalid. Please request a new link below. I have attempted to use another browser with no success.

    Can the iCloud account please be deleted? I would like to start over again.

    By WordPress.org account, do you mean the account to log in here at this site specifically? (sorry for asking, but so many people get confused between this and their own site and even WordPress.com, it’s just become more efficient to ask right away)

    If so, we are not currently able to delete accounts here: https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/forum-guidelines/#deleting-accounts

    But, we can help you regain access to the old account if you email forum-password-resets (at) wordpress (dot) org

    Yes. That’s what I meant.

    I have tried many password resets through that email address, but always get this message instead.

    Happens every single time. Even using another browser doesn’t work.

    The email address listed above is handled by an actual person, you won’t get an automated response if you contact it. 🙂

    Just contact that email address and explain the situation in as much detail as possible.

    I just contacted an actual person, and that person who contacted me told the same thing that I already tried.

    Reset the password via the link.

    I told the person back that the link does not work and I have to request a new one.

    Ok, keep speaking with that person, they are the one who can help you with this. Recapping it over here won’t help, that’s the only person who can.

    Overall, please do keep in mind that this is considered a security matter and there may not be favorable resolution for you.
