Cannot customize Permalink!

    I go to “Options > Permalink”

    Then I choose the following

    Date and name based
    » http://www.domainname.com/2006/04/04/sample-post/

    Then I return to my blog page, when I click on a post the IE shows “Not Found”. I cannot go the specific post page.

    Anyone knows what’s wrong with that? How to deal with the problem.

    Is mod_rewrite enabled on your server? Do you have a .htaccess file in the root of the WP install? Is the .htaccess writable?
    Did you see Using_Permalinks in the Codex?
