Facing the exact same issue.
Same exact issue with WooCommerce v4.6.2 as well.
Hey Steve!
Let’s see how to get this working.
You said:
I’ve also checked the value of “wc_facebook_external_business_id” and it is pure ASCII characters – simply the name of the site.
Resetting the external business ID and re-connecting seems to do the trick in most cases. Please try again with the following steps:
Surf to https://<your-site>/wp-admin/options.php
Search for wc_facebook_external_business_id
Update field to include only supported characters and save
best practice: storename-dfsdc3lck9k6q ← 13-digit random string (after “storename-“)
Go back to WooCommerce > Facebook and click “Get Started” again
Please make sure you toggle the “manage business” permission during the FBE process too.
If it goes well, you will see this screen: https://snipboard.io/Jcn09y.jpg
“Please make sure you toggle the “manage business” permission during the FBE process too.”
This made it work. Thanks @battouly
And I tried changing the wc_facebook_external_business_id, the system didn’t allow me to change it.
All sorted though.
Awesome! Thanks for the updates @sharmapuneetkr!
I hope others will get it sorted out with one of the options too.
Hi
I’ve reset the wc_facebook_external_business_id again (although I did do this originally as well) and it’s still not working. Same process, ticked the “managed business” setting, too. same error.
Many thanks
Steve
Hi, any updates on this please?

Hey @steve-perry-creative
If you have tried with the Manage your business toggled to on and this still won’t work, are you able to walk through a conflict test, please? https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/
If you are comfortable with a short custom code snippet – this can often show extra debug information on that “Something went wrong” error page. Do to so, please add this snippet:
add_filter( 'wc_facebook_connection_proxy_url', function() {
return 'https://wc-connect-test.skyverge.com/auth/facebook/';
} );
Thanks!
Hi
Thanks for the response. I should have mentioned that I tried all of the basic debugging steps before posting here.
However, for completion I have just gone through that process again. I tried with all plugins, other than this one and WooCommerce, disabled as well as the vanilla Storefront theme enabled. Unfortunately I’m still seeing exactly the same issue and message from the debug hook.
Many thanks
Steve
Hi Steve,
If you have tried everything in the documentation, a conflict test and made sure the base currency is set to one that is supported by Facebook but it still doesn’t work, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status?
You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Hi all!
We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
Thanks,
Hi
No, please don’t do that – this issue is not resolved. Where can I send the status report to? I don’t want to post it on a public forum.
Regards
Steve
