Cannot change a tag slug

    I have a theme that allows for me to show featured articles in a certain block on the home page. I was told by the author to make sure that the sluf for the actual tag is set correctly… I found where the mistake was so I tried to correct it.

    The slug for the featured tag was set to ‘featured-2’ – I tried to remove the ‘-2’ and when I did I get the following error:

    The slug “featured” is already in use by another term

    I did a search in the tags for the word featured and nothing else came up on the results except the tag in question…

    Any thoughts? Thanks for any help.

    The author of my theme clarified this error for me… in case anyone else has a similar issue:

    You need to delete your categories called “featured” and “pictures”. You need to *tag* the posts only, they do not need to be in a specific category. Once you have deleted the categories go and edit the tag slugs and remove the “-2” from them e.g. “featured-2” becomes “featured”.
