• You know when you post, WP automatically checks your Default post category? I have a lot of categories, and I keep forgetting to uncheck the default post. The type of post I do is such that I rarely post to the same category, and there’s no one category that I post to most often, thus no need for a “default” category. Is there something I can do to keep WP from checking the Default post category everytime? I just want to manually check the categories when I post, I don’t need something automatically checked, because I always forget to uncheck it, and have to do it later on, which is kind of a hassle for me.

    Thanks.

  • Nope. Inbuilt “functionality”, unfortunately. Nice guy a few months back built a “Yo Moron check the category” fix (displays in red below the posting text entry fields) for me for on the write and manage screens. If you’d like it, let me know and I’ll give you an addy to grab the code from.

Haha. Nice. But nah, thanks for the offer. I guess I’ll just try to live with it.

That was my first reaction too…. but I didn’t have any luck changing my habits AT ALL (too old prob’ly!), so I got it from him, and first changed it to a “more kind and gentle” reminder, then decided if I was going to have to poke myself, I WAS a moron….
